Where in the world are the Greenes?

SO... it has been quite a long time. And I thought, well, it might be time for an update! Last fall, Chris & I moved to Cap Haitien in the North of Haiti. We have loved the change of scenery, meeting new people, and exploring a new place. While we initially moved here for my job, we are both now working full time. Chris starting working with Meds & Food for Kids (MFK) the beginning of this year, doing logistics and supply chain. MFK has a factory right down the road from where we live where they produce Plumpy Nut (or Medika Mamba as we call it in Haiti), a peanut butter supplement. It is known and used all over the world to treat malnutrition.

We have been learning a lot- the grant I am working on just finished it's first fiscal year, so my Program Management job has been a lot of reports. But this month I am getting back in the field, working with traditional birthing attendants and community healthcare workers. Chris is learning about shipping, ordering, &, well, peanuts I guess. We are also scheduled to head home to visit family for a 10 day break in June. Blessings.
My job sometimes requires very official UN visits
In April, my sister treated us with a visit, the first time she has gotten to come to Haiti since I have lived here! It was so fun (except for getting sick, sorry Nancy Hart)- she & some of the other staff from the hospital where she works in the States come to do teaching. We have also been enjoying the beaches, the Citadelle, & being close to good restaurants (with pizza!).

List of some good books I have read recently:
Scary Close: Dropping the act and finding true intimacy by Donald Miller
I am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

And I am currently working through the devotional
Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are by Shauna Niequist
Our sweet little home!
Here is hoping that my inspiration to write continues!
